Libby Beattie trained as an interior designer in London at the Inchbald School of Design in the 1980s and then worked for ten years in Europe before returning to New Zealand. In France she spent three years converting a fifteenth century chateau into apartments for holiday retreats. The simple elegant living of France and the European style of mixing traditional with modern design elements have been enduring influences on Libby’s work.
In New Zealand, Libby has run a busy design practice since 1998 working with residential and commercial clients throughout New Zealand. She has also taught interior design, been the resident designer on TVNZ’s Good Morning show and worked as a set stylist for television dramas and advertising photo shoots.
