BESPOKE CHAIRS & SOFAS
There are few pieces of furniture more personal and more loved than a favourite armchair or a family sofa. Beautiful chairs and sofas come in many shapes and sizes – if you can imagine it, together we can create it.
Frames: We start by matching the frame to your room and your style. What shape of chair or sofa do you want? Wing chair, rolled arm, armless, squared, fine, chunky, castors, carved legs? If there isn’t one being made that you love, together we can design your vision from scratch.
Fabric: Exploring the many fabric choices is always exciting. I source beautiful fabrics from the best fabric houses in New Zealand and around the world. The options shouldn’t seem daunting, my role is to help you navigate this glorious ocean of choice.
Fill: Often the least considered element of a chair or sofa, but the most important in terms of comfort. How much “give” do you want in the piece and how much “bounce back”? Together we will consider what you should fill your chair with and how much stuffing you should add.
Upholstery finish: The upholsterer’s craft offers another range of options – top stitching, piping, buttoning, studding – it’s often these last important details that makes a piece exceptional.
